This exhibit showcases 6 of Orlando business professionals all whom have alter egos as emerging artists

Monte Olinger:
A principle at the leading architecture firm Baker Barrios, Olinger’s 15 year experience in commercial design and contract furnishings places him atop of his field. Yet, as an artist he shows his unique ability unlock his mind and soul in a way not typically expected from someone used to working with sometimes strict commercial guidelines within his professional life. Monte’s personal work is exciting and truly a breath of fresh air.

Sven Bode alias DEBO:
The publisher of Orlando Style Magazine, Native of Germany and using the artist alias of DEBO, Sven Bode’s artistic side will be most surprising to patrons of this show.

Doug Bloodworth:
As a commercial artist, Bloodworth is best known locally for his painted busses for the Orlando LYNX system. Doug’s passion lays in western and pop art styles. He has even experimented with a series in progress of paintings on wood and metal that he actually shoots from the backside with different caliber firearms, which he believe transforms the paintings into sculpture. He call this his 'Redneck Art' series.

Also featuring the works of Vern Seward, Everett Spuirell and Meridith Olinger

Exhibit opening reception will be Thursday February 19, 2009 as a party of the Downtown Arts District Gallery Walk. 6-9pm

Winter Park Sample Sale

The Park Avenue Area Association is hosting the Winter Park Sample Sale on February 12th from 4-9pm at the Winter Park Farmers’ Market. The Winter Park Sample Sale has become an exciting annual event – part girls’ night out, part charity fundraiser.

Here are the details: all of your favorite Winter Park boutiques will be in one location offering amazing deals on designer fashions, with a portion of the ticket proceeds benefiting the Harbor House of Central Florida. You’ll also find refreshments from local Winter Park eateries, including Tropical Smoothie Café. The entrance fee is only $5 (quite a bargain, considering the designer merchandise and charitable contribution). Participating stores include, Cerise, Douglas Cosmetics, Downeast Orvis, Ginger, Gray Fifth Avenue, Innerblue, J.McLaughlin, Siegel’s, Sultre, Thread, and Tuni. Baterbys Art Gallery

Baterbys has over 25 years of experience in the art world and auctioneering. On February 5 at 7pm, dozens of important works of art by renowned 20th-century masters such as Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Marc Chagall were previewed at Baterbys Art Gallery Opening in Pointe Orlando on International Drive. Morris Publishing Group -- struggling under debt and approaching a deadline to sell enough assets to pay its loans -- said it had retained as financial adviser Lazard Freres & Co. LLC, the same firm that advised Tribune Co. as it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
