How to Beat the Bride-to-be Blues

By: Alyssa Thomann

> If you’re a bride-to-be, odds are your to-do list before you say “I Do” is endless. On top of bouquet choosing, seating arrangements, centerpiece agonizing and numerous caterer squabbles, there is no doubt you are also considering what you look like in your wedding dress to the slew of loved ones you have invited to come watch you tie the knot.

The chaos that comes with planning a wedding can quickly eliminate the positive, feel-good energy you so enthusiastically started out with. But don’t lose hope. Fitting in regular pre-matrimonial workouts along with keeping up with a nutritional diet can keep you sane, focused and reinstate the positive vibes. With a few tips and adjustments to your regular routine you will begin to consider your new workout plan as your own personal therapy session to keep Bridezilla at bay.

1. First of all ladies, keep your heart rate up. Cardiovascular exercises are one of the most important components in your wedding day beautification workout. Not only is cardio a way to get your legs, abs and whole body in shape but it is a sure stress reliever when your wedding planning starts to get a bit too hectic. A nice walk or run on the treadmill for thirty minutes is sure to boost your energy and bring back your inner peace.

2. Second, do not stop eating. Not eating enough so you whittle away to your desired weight can sabotage your weight-loss efforts just as much as overeating can. When your body feels it is being deprived of food, it starts to hold on to more calories and turn them into fat. We understand you’re busier than normal, so if you don’t have time to make a home cooked meal, run to the nearest grocery store and pick up healthy frozen food meals that are not drowning in preservatives. Also, remember to carry around healthy snacks while you’re on the go such as granola bars or nuts.

3. Third, make some minor adjustments to your daily diet. Be sure to indulge in a rainbow of fruits and vegetables, all natural of course. At least try to include one fruit or vegetable with every meal of the day. In addition, stop drinking your calories. Soda and fruit juice are essentially sugar water, with an intense caloric punch. Stick to water for your drink of choice or eat fresh fruit if you’re in the mood for fruit juice. Also, be sure to consume more fiber. Fiber keeps you full as well as aids in weight loss

You are about to start a new chapter of your life with the person you are head over heels for. This is a time of joy and celebration. The grueling months that you spend deciding every last detail of your perfect wedding day will all be worth it soon and as you see, it is easier to shape up than you think, so don’t let your workout and diet plan put a damper on the excitement. <
