> A native of Florida, Raymond O. Bodiford has been representing the people of Florida for more than 25 years. He was born and raised in Miami, FL and attended He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at the age of 20. He attended law school at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he graduated in 1981. During law school, he worked as a certified legal intern at the Public Defender’s Office in Alachua County where he began his career as a trial lawyer. Upon graduation, he began working as the assistant public defender for the 16th judicial circuit where he handled cases from juvenile to capital murder. He moved to Orlando, FL in 1988 where he founded the law firm of Crews & Bodiford, PA and started litigating products liability cases and inadequate security cases. For the last 20 years he has been an advocate for safety in the workplace and on the highways. Mr. Bodiford represented two bank tellers in Lake County who were victims of a bank robbery at their workplace that had a poor security system and obtained a large verdict in 2002 on their behalf. He represented a lady taxi driver who was sexually assaulted in 2006 and as a result all taxis in Orlando have security cameras to deter crime. In 2010 he settled a case for $7,750,000 for a security guard who has a spinal cord injury as a result of a criminal shooting. He has passionately advocated for auto safety and has settled dozens of cases for people who had major injuries caused by a defective air bag, seat belt, roof crush or caused by a SUV rollover. Mr. Bodiford has appeared in civil matters all over the country including venues in Maine, California, Illinois, Nevada, Texas, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. He has served as the chairman for the Products Liability Section of the American Association for Justice. He has taught numerous seminars on various topics mostly related to auto safety products liability issues including defective seat belts in cars, SUVs, heavy trucks.He has been a lecturer at lawyers conventions and seminars all across the US and Canada. He and his wife Heather, who is a librarian at Valencia College, live in Belle Isle on Little Lake Conway in their lovely home. Their eldest son, Andrew, graduated Lake Highland Prep and is attending the University of Maryland majoring in government, and their younger son, Brett, is a high school student at their neighborhood charter school.
